Kawhi Leonard Wins Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP While Wearing New Balance Signature Sneakers

Kawhi Leonard made history on multiple levels at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game in Chicago. The Los Angeles Clippers forward became the first player to claim the Kobe Bryant MVP Award, courtesy of a game-high 30 points. In doing so, joined Michael Jordan as the only people in league history to earn honors as All-Star MVP, Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.

As it happens, Kawhi joined that select company while wearing the first edition of his eponymous signature sneaker from New Balance.

The KAWHI includes some elements of the New Balance OMN1s that the new shoe’s namesake has been sporting since signing with the Boston-based sportswear company. The sneaker itself features a mid-cut silhouette, a technical mesh base and synthetic toe panels, along with KAWHI branding on the tongue and a 3D New Balance logo on the heel.

Precise drop dates and pricing have yet to be announced, but the New Balance KAWHI will get a limited release in the spring, followed by a global release in the fall.
