It was a lifelong dream fulfilled: getting drafted by his hometown New York Knicks. But on December 30, 2015, Cleanthony Early’s life took a frightening turn, when he was robbed and shot leaving a friend's party in New York City.

Three years later, Cleanthony—who led Wichita State to the 2013 Final Four and joined the NBA in 2014—is still coping with different tragedies that have tormented him throughout his life, and the negative perception that follows him as he works his way back to the NBA at 27.
