Donovan Mitchell Unveils First Signature Sneaker, D.O.N. Issue #1, with Adidas and Marvel

Donovan Mitchell may not be an All-Star or NBA champion yet, but that hasn’t stopped the Utah Jazz swingman from landing his own signature sneaker. Come July 1, fans of the 2017 draft lottery pick will be able to sport his silhouette, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #1, in four different colorways inspired by Donovan’s favorite Marvel Superhero (and nicknamesake): Spider-Man.

Those include editions for Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man (red, blue and white; due July 1), Symbiote Spider-Man (pink, black, white and silver; dropping July 18), Stealth Spider-Man (black and green; available August 1) and Marvel’s Iron Spider (red and gold; out August 31).

As for the name of the shoe itself, D.O.N. is a play on Donovan’s name with special meaning.

“Determination Over Negativity is a belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from,” he said in a press release. “I wanted this sneaker to be a symbol of that—for the kid who believes they can do anything.”

The D.O.N. Issue #1 will retail for $100 through on July 1 and at adidas retail stores on July 5.
