Giannis Antetokounmpo and Girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger Welcome Birth of Their Son Liam

Giannis Antetokounmpo racked up his fifth DNP of the 2019-20 NBA season on Monday, though not on account of an injury. Rather, the reigning MVP missed the Milwaukee Bucks’ matchup with the Sacramento Kings at Fiserv Forum to be with his girlfriend, Mariah Riddlesprigger, as she gave birth to their first child: a son named Liam Charles Antetokounmpo.

The baby boy’s middle name comes from Giannis’ father, Charles, who succumbed to a heart attack in 2017 at the age of 53.

Liam's birth, though, was a joyous occasion—and an opportunity for Giannis to have some fun on social media. On Sunday, he teased his son’s impending arrival with a nod to Jon Snow, the character from HBO’s Game of Thrones, on Twitter.

The “Greek Freak” also took to TikTok—where he has more than 356,000 followers—to document his and Mariah's wait for Liam’s arrival.

The couple initially announced Mariah’s pregnancy in October 2019.
