Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson Unveils New ANTA SIgnature Sneaker in Oakland

You can take the Golden State Warriors out of Oakland, but you can’t take Oakland out of the Warriors. Case in point: Klay Thompson, who debuted the KT5, the newest edition of his signature sneaker with the Chinese sportswear brand ANTA, in downtown Oakland on Sunday—one day after Golden State played its first game (a 123-101 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Lakers) at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco.

The five-time NBA All-Star and three-time champion came out to take pictures and sign autographs, with some fans offering up their newly purchased shoes for signatures. Klay was joined by Kevon Looney, his Warriors teammate and recent ANTA signee, for the event at Oaklandish, a fashion line and retail store in the East Bay. He spent the first eight years of his Golden State career playing at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

In addition to Klay and Kevon, ANTA counts Jacob Evans among its representatives in Golden State. The second-year guard for the Warriors signed with the company last November. ANTA’s NBA roster also includes Lakers guard Rajon Rondo and Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward.
