Hawks’ Kent Bazemore, Vince Carter are ‘Winging It’ with New NBA Podcast
The Atlanta Hawks are getting into the player-hosted podcast game. This week, The Ringer announced that NBA legend Vince Carter will join teammate Kent Bazemore and Hawks digital content coordinator Annie Finberg on “Winging It,” a new podcast set to debut on December 3. The show will discuss everything from sports, the lives of NBA players, pop culture and whatever else comes to mind as they “wing it” on the mic together, producing the podcast on the road.
The trio has been hard at work promoting their show on social media. In a teaser for the podcast, Vince promises “A lot of funny” while Annie adds, “You gon’ laugh.”
Additionally, “Winging It” will feature basketball guests like former NBA MVPs, All-Stars, “regular guys and not-so-regular guys." The podcast has already shot to the top spot on iTunesCharts.net's US Sports & Recreation Podcasts list.
The show’s format follows in the footsteps of Uninterrupted’s “Road Trippin’” podcast, hosted by former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, alongside former Cavs sideline reporter Allie Clifton. However, with the divergence in experience between Kent, who’s become a solid rotation player over his seven NBA seasons, and Vince, a superstar who’s now into his 21st campaign, “Winging It” should offer a dynamic not yet heard on a basketball podcast.
