NBA Runway, Week 12: Superstars Winterize Their Outfits
In the first week of 2019, NBA players embraced winter fashion to the fullest. The league's most stylish hoopers found the perfect balance between streetwear and designer label brands to complete their icy looks in preparation for the cold weather. Here are CloseUp360’s top five looks from Week 12 of the season, starting with No. 5.
5) Terry Rozier, Boston Celtics
Outfit: Scary in Supreme
Terry Rozier arrived to TD Garden on the first Friday of 2019 in a sick gradient Supreme puffer jacket. Scary Terry paired his outerwear with Amiri broken track jeans that featured a blue stripe down each leg to complement the colors in his jacket. The Celtics guard finished his look with a pair of Gucci Flashtrek sneakers that he wears frequently.
4) Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers
Outfit: Cozy Kuz
Kyle Kuzma came comfortable with it on January 6 as he pulled up to the Target Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves. From Fear of God’s new essentials line, Kuz wore a white sweatshirt and black joggers. Over his sweatshirt, the Flint, Michigan native sported a light wash denim jacket. For his accessories, the second-year forward out of Utah went simple with a black beanie and black low top Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.
3) LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Outfit: Dinner Jacket for a King
While the Lakers continue to struggle without their leader, LeBron James doesn’t fail when it comes to his fashion. Walking into Staples Center on Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bron sported a dope black-and-white dinner jacket by Gucci, layered with a white sweatshirt. He also wore Gucci joggers and a Los Angeles Dodgers cap from Gucci's recent line of MLB designs in the iconic brand's Fall/Winter 2018 collection. For his kicks, the Akron, Ohio native wore sneakers by Nike from the Swoosh's collab with A-Cold-Wall.
2) Frank Ntilikina, New York Knicks
Outfit: NY Gucci Gang
Frank Ntilikina strolled into the Staples Center in some New York swag before leaving LA with a 119-112 win over the Lakers on January 4. The Frenchman wore a complete Gucci look, starting with its blue acetate New York Yankees jacket from the brand’s MLB designs. To match the jacket, he wore Gucci’s acetate technical joggers. For his accessory, the Knicks guard carried a Louis Vuitton Damier black bag.
1) Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder
Outfit: Puffer in Portland
Russell Westbrook ambled into the Moda Center in a trendy winter fit before dropping 31 points on the Portland Trail Blazers during OKC's 111-109 win on January 4. The reversible down puffer jacket by Acne Studios x Fjällräven undoubtedly stole the show with its bright yellow hue and faux fur trim. Brodie stepped it up with a pair of plaid trousers by Christos—currently one of his favorite designers. To top it off, the 2016-17 NBA MVP wore the new Air Jordan 1s inspired by the Spider-Man Origin Story.
