NBA Runway, Week 16: The Western Conference Takes Over
The West Coast is the NBA's best coast, at least as far as fashion is concerned. As the calendar flipped from January to February, the Western Conference’s usual fashionistas showed up in chic designer ready-to-wear pieces. But could anyone beat out Houston Rockets hype beast P.J. Tucker for the top spot in our NBA Runway rankings? Find out below, with our five favorite looks from Week 16 of the season, starting with No. 5.
5) Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers
Outfit: Killa Kuz
Kyle Kuzma showed up to Oracle Arena on February 2 in merch from Drake’s Scorpion tour. The Flint, Michigan native wore a satin bomber jacket layered with a Rodeo Drive sweatshirt. Kuz also wore a pair of jeans by Amiri (one of his favorite designers) featuring the brand's signature distressed look. To complete the outfit, the Lakers forward sported the Nike x Off-White blazers that have become popular around the league.
4) DeMarcus Cousins, Golden State Warriors
Outfit: Balenciaga Boogie
DeMarcus Cousins arrived at Oracle Arena ready to help the Warriors take down the Lakers, 115-101, with a colorful look. Boogie kept his 'fit cozy by layering a black hooded sweatshirt under an all-over logo Balenciaga padded shirt featuring the designer’s logo in rainbow colors. The former All-Star then matched the Balenciaga jacket with a pair of Puma RS-X sneakers.
3) Chris Paul, Houston Rockets
Outfit: Color-Block Chris
Chris Paul strutted into the Pepsi Center in a color-blocked look featuring a jewel-toned down jacket by Aime Leon Dore on February 1 before the Rockets faced the Denver Nuggets. Houston's "Point God" layered the jacket with a matching orange zip pullover over a pair of simple black trousers. To sync with the tones of his jacket and pullover, CP rocked a pair of Nike Air Terra Humara sneaks.
2) P.J. Tucker, Houston Rockets
Outfit: Rocket Red
P.J. Tucker pulled up in another winning look on January 29, before Houston faced the New Orleans Pelicans that Tuesday night. The Rockets’ fashion king proudly wore a red wool-blend blanket check patch jacket by British designer Paul Smith. P.J. kept the look clean with a white t-shirt and grey cropped trousers. He rounded out the assemblage with red accessories, including a red beanie, and red and green Nike Air Force 1 Questloves.
1) LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Outfit: Green King
LeBron James didn't let his rest night stop him from showing up to Oracle Arena in a dope monochromatic look on February 2. The King layered an OAMC oversized military green jacket with a green Gucci hoodie sweatshirt that featured the message “BLIND FOR LOVE” across the waist. The green continued with a pair of joggers and Gucci striped socks. For his kicks, Bron opted for the Jordan 3 Tinker sneakers.
