NBA Runway, Week 8: Fall Fashion Takes Over
The NBA brought out plenty of 2018 fall fashion favorites for Week 8 of the season. From teddy coats to Fear of God loungewear and designer drip, players covered autumn's biggest style trends. Here are our top five picks from the week that was, starting with No. 5.
5) Kawhi Leonard, Toronto Raptors
Outfit: New Balance, Who Dis?
After signing a multi-year shoe deal with New Balance, Kawhi Leonard arrived to the Scotiabank Arena decked out in the brand's gear before helping the Raptors take down the Philadelphia 76ers, 113-102, on December 5. Proving that players don’t have to be flamboyant to make a fashion statement, the small forward wore a New Balance classic black varsity jacket and jogger pants. The 2014 Finals MVP finished the look with a pair of New Balance x Kith x Nonnative 997s sneakers.
4) Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder
Outfit: White Hot
Russell Westbrook walked into the United Center in an all-white leisure look before OKC's game against the Chicago Bulls on December 7. In lieu of the new Fear of God x Essentials drop, the Thunder point guard wore white sweatpants and two layered white tees from the new line. The former UCLA Bruin topped off the outfit with a white beanie and white Nike x Public School Air Force 1s.
3) Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors
Outfit: Big Teddy
Despite sitting out for the Warriors' win over the Milwaukee Bucks on December 7 due to a toe sprain, Draymond Green spared no swag at the Fiserv Forum. Styled by Vick Michel, Dray wore a faux fur camel-colored coat by Topman to follow the super popular teddy coat trend that’s invaded both men's and women’s fashion this fall. He complemented the coat with a Saint Laurent tee and pinstriped pants by MyVice. Never failing to bring the shoe game, the Michigan native rocked a pair of Louis Vuitton Outland hiking boots.
2) LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Outfit: Blacked Out
LeBron James showed up to San Antonio’s AT&T Center ready for battle in a blacked-out look, before dropping 35 points against the Spurs on December 7. King James wore a black leather rider’s jacket by John Elliott with a black hoodie underneath. As for his pants, the Lakers forward sported a cargo pant by Rick Owens. He accessorized the all-black look with a vintage Los Angeles Raiders cap and the Nike Vandal High Terminators.
1) P.J. Tucker, Houston Rockets
Outfit: In The Trenches
While the Rockets continue to struggle, P.J. Tucker has had no problem delivering some of the league’s best looks. Before Houston’s game against the Utah Jazz on December 6, the Rockets forward walked into Vivint Smart Home Arena in high fashion, wearing a trench coat by Italian designer Marni. He then paired the trench with a simple white button-down and grey cropped trousers. As for his sneaks, the North Carolina native wore a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Lows.
