NBA Runway, Week 9: Winning Looks Heading into the Holidays
Despite a string of unexpected losses, our five best-dressed NBA players stayed winning in the fashion game during the second full week of December. While Amiri denim continues to rule among the league, chic grey tones and well-curated splashes of neons made steady cameos. Here are our top five looks from Week 9 of the season, starting with No. 5.
5) Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers
Outfit: Dark Denim
Ben Simmons arrived to the Wells Fargo Center in a dark denim look on December 12 against the Brooklyn Nets. Ben wore a denim jacket by Todd Snyder and jeans by Amiri, and completed the look with a Paa striped long-sleeve shirt and a Carhartt beanie. To top it off, the 2017-18 Rookie of the Year carried a Goyard bag and rocked the Off-White Nike Blazers.
4) Jeff Green, Washington Wizards
Outfit: Neon x Neutral
Jeff Green went with a layered look while walking into the Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Nets on December 14. The Wizards forward paired a grey overcoat with a neon green, cotton blend jersey hoodie by Balenciaga that featured the World Food Programme’s motif across the chest to promote the charity. He matched the overcoat with a pair of Amiri jeans, the new Nike Air Fear of God sneakers and a Louis Vuitton Damier cosmetics bag.
3) Mike Conley Jr., Memphis Grizzlies
Outfit: Denim Drip
Mike went full send with the denim for his look at the FedexForum in Memphis against the Miami Heat on December 14. The point guard layered up the denim wearing a J Brand denim jacket with a Hugo Boss denim-inspired, button-up shirt underneath. To mix up the blue denim, Mike opted for grey denim jeans by Amiri. Lastly, to accessorize the outfit, the Arkansas native wore a brown beanie and white leather Givenchy sneakers.
2) Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder
Outfit: Why Not Plaid?
Russell Westbrook pulled up to the Smoothie King Arena in a sick grey and black plaid tracksuit by Christos on December 12. The New Orleans Pelicans sent the Thunder packing with a 118-114 loss, but not before the former MVP could rock one of his signature Why Not? t-shirts along with his Jordan Westbrook 0.3 sneakers.
1) Ian Mahinmi, Washington Wizards
Outfit: Powder Pink
Ian Mahinmi rolled up to the Barclays Center in a super chic, powder pink fit before the Wizards' game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night. The French hooper layered a pale pink Supreme sweatshirt with a sophisticated overcoat. He finished the look with black Amiri jeans, a grey beanie and a pair of Jordan 1s.
