76ers All-Star Ben Simmons Leads Second Annual ‘Coats for Kids’ Donation
Next week, Ben Simmons and the Philadelphis 76ers will begin their quest to blanket the Eastern Conference this NBA season. But a week before the Sixers’ opener against the rival Boston Celtics, the All-Star point guard surprised students in West Philadelphia as part of the second annual “Coats for Kids” event.
Ben and the 76ers once again joined with Operation Warm to hand out more than 600 winter coats to kids at Henry C. Lea Elementary School. Last October, that same partnership brought 750 coats to students at William Cramp Elementary School.
Prior to spearheading “Coats for Kids,” Ben embarked on community service when, as a rookie, he treated four families to a holiday shopping spree in late 2017.
