Under Armour Unveils ‘Working on Excellence’ Colorway of Stephen Curry’s Sneaker
The Currys have become America’s First Family of Basketball. But none of Stephen Curry’s most famous relatives—not former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry or current Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry, not mother, Sonya, or wife, Ayesha, or any of Steph’s three kids—can claim to be behind a colorway of the two-time MVP’s Under Armour signature sneaker quite like the “Working on Excellence” edition of the Curry 6.
The phrase comes from Steph's cousin, Devontée, a Toronto-based musician who found his way from budding football stardom to creating and teaching music in Canada. Steph already had “W.O.E.” (for “Working on Excellence”) tattooed onto his right bicep, and now will be able to wear that mantra on his feet as well.
"'Working on Excellence' is my pursuit, every single year, to continue to get better on and off the court in every facet of my life,” Steph said in a press release. “I got that tattooed to remind myself of that every single day, and to bring that storytelling through this shoe is definitely something I'm extremely proud of.”

The shoe itself includes all the staples of the Curry 6, including split outsole traction and full-length HOVR cushioning. For this version, Under Armour partnered with Stance to create a limited-edition line of socks to complement Steph’s latest kicks.
The Under Armour Curry 6 Working on Excellence is now on sale at the SC30 x Oakland pop-up shop in the downtown area, and will be available on UA.com, at UA Brand Houses and at other retailers for $130 starting on February 8.
