Thunder’s Mike Muscala’s Jersey to be Retired at Bucknell on Alumni Day
While the NBA remains immersed in All-Star Weekend activities in Chicago on Saturday, Mike Muscala will be in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the honor of a lifetime. The Oklahoma City Thunder forward will be back on campus at Bucknell University, where his No. 31 jersey will be retired in a ceremony at halftime of the Bison’s Alumni Day game against American University inside Sojka Pavilion.
The 28-year-old Roseville, Minnesota native will be the fifth Bucknell basketball player and third men’s player to be honored on the school’s Geisinger Retired Jersey Wall. During his time with the Bison, Mike was a four-time All-Patriot League selection and a two-time Patriot League Player of the Year who led Bucknell to two NCAA Tournament appearances and broke the school’s scoring record. In 2014, he became the first Bison to play in the NBA, after the Atlanta Hawks acquired his rights as a second-round pick from the Dallas Mavericks in the 2013 draft.
The seven-year veteran has also played for Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers, and has engaged his interest in business and real estate through various programs with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
